Create
a game in your journal (not in the border). Split the spelling words in half, but mix up the
order….you will give your journal to someone in the class who will draw lines
to connect the words.

Reading helps us explore our world. In fact, we have started talking about
TEXT-TO-WORLD connections. Have
your child read something other than a book; a newspaper article, magazine
article, or a website. Have them
think about the 5 Ws of the article….

Writing:
We’ve talked about how to start a
story….now, as writers, we need to work on how to move a reader THROUGH a story. We do this with using transition words. Transition words can show the passage
of time, or connect ideas together.
Try
writing a paragraph that uses the transition words below…..can there be too
many transition words?
