A few days after our field trip, the Portland Art Museum came to see us! They have a wonderful 'suitcase' program, where they bring materials for the kids to explore in ways they can't at the museum.
We got to see the materials Native Americans used when making their bowls, cloths, masks, etc. We got to look and touch bear claws, rabbit fur, bone, teeth, shells, beads, and feathers. The kids were able to look at these materials and relate them to the items we had seen on our field trip.
