Reading:

We are finishing The Valentine Cat. Next week, we will work on our final project to show what we know about this book. What is the main idea of this book? What are the 5 most important details about the story?

Math

We talked about “scale” this week in our work with Maps (which crosses over to math!). Please place 3 items on a table at home. They can be a book, a plate, a toy (They need to be on the larger size, and it helps if it is square-ish, but not necessary).

Have your child show you how they measure the table and the items on top of it. Make a drawing to scale using the grid paper on the back of this sheet. Make sure to tell me what your scale is.

(ex. each square is = to 2 inches)

Writing:

This week, we were working on some special “winter” writing. Fill in the graph to help you think of fun winter words that we can use.

Winter sounds like…

Winter looks like…

Winter feels like…

Winter makes me feel…
