Goal:  Write a goal that supports your learning this week.

Math
At the school bake sale, many things were sold to raise money.  They sold 17 cookies,  22 cupcakes and 9 cakes.

A pictograph is a graph that uses pictures to communicate data.

Create a pictograph using the information about the bake sale.  Make sure your pictograph has a title, a key, and all the necessary information.

What symbol will you use for your graph?  Will each symbol be equal to 1 item or will it be equal to more than 1? 


Reading:

This past week, we studied the author Patricia Pollaco.  We read 3 of her stories.  Pick which one was your favorite and tell why.  Which parts of the book stood out to you?  Did you have any text-to-self connections?

Writing: 

 We are still discussing Personal Narratives (stories about our lives).  This week, we discussed where we get ideas for these kinds of stories. 

Write about your favorite birthday.  Why was it was your favorite?  What happened?  Do you think you will have another birthday like that one?
