Homework - 1/3

DUE: January 9, 2013

Goal:  Write a goal that supports your learning this week.

Goal Evaluation:  Write a sentence or two explaining how you did on your goal.

Spelling:

When writing your spelling words in your border.  Separate the prefix from the base word with a line.  Notice how the base word doesn’t change it’s spelling, it just gets the added prefix.

     For example……. mis|spell

Math

If I give you the answer 69.  How many different problems can you come up with that have that answer.  Try to have at least 4 different problems.

You can do addition, subtraction, or even multiplication, if you would like to try.

For example…..the answer is 12.

  4+8=12     10+2=12     15-3+12   3x4=12

Social Studies:

Coming back from Winter Break, we have discussed how important it is to have goals and the beginning of a new year is the perfect time to think about what we want to do as we finish up our 3rd Grade year.

Please write me a letter (in proper letter format) describing 2 different goals that you have for the rest of 3rd Grade.  One goal should be a learning goal and the other a “citizenship” goal.  Please tell me about each of your goals, why you chose them, and 2 different things you can do to help reach those goals.  Also, think about how will you know if you have met your goal?  What will you be able to do or say?

I would do a rough draft of the letter on a separate sheet of paper, make all your revisions and edits on that rough draft.  You final, published draft should go into the Homework Journal.
