Homework - December 1, 2011

Goal: Write a goal that supports your learning this week.

Goal Evaluation: Write a sentence or two explaining how you did on your goal.

Math Create a table with at least 3 examples of each type of angle from around your house.

Acute Angle Right Angle Obtuse Angle

(You could use the corner of this page to measure each angle to see if it is less than, greater than, or equal to a right angle.)

Spelling:

When you add a prefix to a base word, the spelling of the base word does not change.

Make a border around your pages that feature your spelling words.

Writing:

This week, we have focused on how writers gather new ideas when they are stumped for an idea. This brainstorm idea shows the NEED FOR SPEED!

Find an object in your house (an orange, a chair, etc)….write non-stop about that object for exactly 1 minute. You can write anything as long as it is about that object. Don’t worry about spelling or punctuation…just get the ideas out on paper. We will use your ideas in your writing next week.

Reading:

We have started reading our new books for our reading partnership. Please tell me what book you are reading. Give me a summary of what has happened in the book to this point. Please write a PARAGRAPH telling me what has happened.
