Reading Partnerships

We are in the middle of our first series of Reading Partnerships. This is when a pair of students reads the same book at the same time. Each person reads the book until they get to a pre-determined stopping point. Then the partners hold a Discussion Meeting to re-tell the story, ask each other questions, and make predictions. When the book is finished, the partners will prepare a final project based on the book that they read.

For our first Reading Partnership, I selected the book that the students read. As we move forward in the year, the students will select what books they want to read with their partners.

Reading Partnerships are another way we use books to relate and engage with each other! Check back this week, I will post a video of kids holding a Discussion Meeting.
