Third Grade Guide to Portland!

Hello!

As many of you may have heard, we are studying Portland this spring and will be writing a guidebook to our city. We received a letter from Pinball Publishing back in February, encouraging us to send them any articles and artwork we create while we study Portland - materials that may inspire a kid's guidebook project they are considering. In the meantime, we are creating our own guidebook on a blog:

The Third Grade Guide to Portland

We will be posting pictures and notes on that blog from all the activities we do while we move toward writing our guidebook sections. We divided up the guidebook and chose occupations that fit each section. Using a large Portland wall map, we will create our homes, places of business, local attractions, famous places, natural areas, etc as a backdrop for the research, interview-based, written and artistic projects we'll complete in the coming weeks.
