Math

This week, focus on the x5 and x10 facts. Just try to integrate your practice in different areas of your day.

This week, we started talking about fractions. In fractions, you have to have fair and equal parts with your split an object into fractions. For example, one brownie can be split into 2 equal halves to share with 2 people.

How would 2 people share 3 brownies? What is each person’s fair share? Draw your answer.

Reading:

We have been looking at the text features of non-fiction books (captions, labels, diagrams, headings, text boxes).

The newspaper is the best place to find these kinds of features. Look in the paper, and cut out an example of one of these features. Glue it into your journal. Please make sure you tell me which feature it is!

Writing:

Another type of expository writing is the biography. Telling a story about a real person. Pick someone in your family. Tell me their full name, birthday, and 3 important facts that you could use in your writing.

Also, draw a portrait of your person!
